Loopers Meeting

LOOPERS CONCHAS MEETING January 7 2010

1. Pledge of Allegiance led by Don Mooty.

2. Guest Speaker - George Erickson - True North - excellent presentation on Alaska.

3. Supper: Hobo Soup and salad - delicious combinations of soup and salad "fixins".

4. Secretary's Report: no meeting in December - just a wonderful party ­compliments to Carrol and Don and their terrific committee.

5. Treasurer's report: after party income & outgo - a donation of $300 was made to local Food pantries -leaving us with a balance of $$809.98.

7. Casino: Jim Grimley - cost .68/pp. 36 people have signed-Up; need 45 to insure the announced cost. Deadline - Jan. 20th.

8. Ladies Luncheon, second Monday of each month, January 11th, 11AM - The Veranda on Lake Sumter Landing. Contact person: Kitty Evans.

9. Romeo Lunch - Bob Klimas - Wednesday, January 20th. Meet at 11 :30 at Bob's to proceed to 100th Street Grill.

10. Romeo Breakfast: Don Frakes to arrange car pooling - February 3rd at Denny's.

11, Christmas Party - Don & Carrol thanked everyone for their exceptional help and were pleased that the committees efforts were appreciated by almost everyone.

12. Penny Poker - Don Frakes. A group is being formed to play 5-card Stud ($1.00 limit, total) on Thursday afternoons 3-5pm. First meeting is at Don's and then site will be on a rotating basis.

13. Goofeos - Ken Purdy. Next outing will be Thursday, Jan. 21st at Cody's. Call Ken for further information. Reservation is for 3:30pm.

14. Golf Scramble: Pete Peterson. Dec. Scramble: 1st: Lillian Hauber, Will Evans, Frank & Marion Montecalvo; 2nd; Dick Habusta, Ann Romanak and Jerry & Ellen Oberer; 3rd: Wayne & Judy Laranjo, Jean Wilson & Lyle Dalziel; 4th, Alan & Pat Clements, Mike Sukennikoff & Betty Breese

16. Hudson Dinner/Show. Ron Phelps. Show is "Dirty Rotten Scoundrel" on Thursday, March 18th• 32 have signed-up, payment -$41/pp due by next meeting.

17. VHA North/Golf Cart Paths were discussed bV Wayne Speicher. Among the items mentioned were: Widen the paths along EI Gamino, upgrade the area across from the Savannah Center, upgrades at thll:! Santia~o gate. There will be a meeting at Hacienda for areas 1,2,3 & 4 on February 11 h.

18. Putt-Putt Contest is being arranged byJack Owen. The contest will be April 11 th.

19. Bocce - Carol Speicher. New round will begin Feb. 12th and continue through March 26th.

20. Special Concerns - Belva DeMarco. Cards Wt!:!re signed for: Roxanne Robinson, John Lacovara, Lynn Turner and Shirley King.
